day two

the plan for today was to go on the alternative tour (see post) which took up the majority of our morning and early afternoon. it was SO cold, but such a good thing to do and see. would 100% recommend it if you are into history, culture and arts. the tour started at the alexandra platz tv tower center, and went as far as west berlin on the tram showing the difference between the two districts.

after the tour finished, we stayed in west berlin in search for some shopping! we had researched that this is where the boutiques and vintage stores were, so we followed a very long highstreet road, popping into a variety of stores- mostly mens- to see what we could find. to be honest, i much prefer this way of exploring- just walking around until you find something interesting enough to grab your attention.

we went into depot 2- very sports menswear, VOO (see post) and around three of four vintage stores which weren't very good- more very very pricey charity shops. after exploring the west of berlin, we went back to mitte, and found do you read me (see post), a beautiful magazine store. i liked mitte at night, it was still lively but not noisy, not in your face. there were still enough people around in this quiet city.
